OFFICE - According to news reports the brand new 2-story, $3,900,000.00 banking center has broken ground.

Slated for a former city-owned parcel, once used for utility bill payments, the new 10,690 SF Envision Credit Union banking center will be situated along Monroe Street between Brevard and Georgia Streets. It's construction will usher in a distinct change in the landscape along Tallahassee's "main street" into the heart of the city, and further bridge the divide between downtown and midtown.

Designed by Architects Lewis + Whitlock, PA, a Tallahassee-based architectural firm, "The new building weaves into the downtown fabric through materiality, building/human scale conditions and transparency to create an inviting and visible connection to the pedestrian."

According to Lewis + Whitlock's narrative on this project:

"The project includes the re-use of a portion of the existing drive-thru facility on-site. Goals for this project include defining a branch identity, helping our client maintain a downtown presence, encouraging community synergy, and preserving existing site features and mature oak trees. The identity of the new building will serve as an iconic structure that integrates the qualities portraying strength, stability, and security present in a traditional bank’s architectural typology."

The Tallahassee Democrat article reports the new bank is expected to be completed March of 2019.
