Sounds like the ACC is becoming the East Coast's super conference. There's also talk that Notre Dame is considering the ACC IF (big if) it decides to get involved in a conference at all. The recent invitees into the conference have strong Basketball pedigree, but do little for the conference in terms of football prestige. Although I'm a football guy, in my opinion, this does not diminish the respectability of the conference. However, I understand football is king right now, and many may not be as patient as I to see how things shake out with the realignment. Does FSU stay in the ACC or does FSU take the next train out to the SEC?

Being a UF fan I am not saying FSU should join the SEC but the economic impact to FSU would be huge for two reasons.
One the SEC already has a very good TV contract that the schools share in the revenue. this contract would probably be expanded with new schools coming into the conference. I don't know the figures off the top of my head but its like $20 a million a year I think per school. Either way its probably double what anything the ACC could put together. Second geography, there are more SEC schools with in easy driving distance to Tallahassee than ACC. Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina. None of those are over 5 hours away. Plus SEC schools fans I think travel in more numbers than ACC, just my opinion. All those fans coming to Tally every other weekend would be almost like what is happening now with OU. Plus look at how many titles the SEC has won in the past 5 years, ALL OF THEM!!!
Since the BCS was formed 7 out of 13 games just for the SEC. The SEC is big time football not doubt about it. Basketball is good and 2 years in a row South Carolina has won the College World Series.
From and FSU fan standpoint they should be drooling at the chance to get into the SEC.
It also helps in recruiting the best talent in the country to be in the SEC.

In what way would an SEC-FSU improve Tallahassee? By this I'm asking what cities that host SEC school have that ACC cities do not? Certain features on athletic facilities, certain businesses?? Trying to keep it relevant to our purpose and not get so much into the sports themselves? Would Tallahasseean's become rowdy like people from SEC cities?

FSU to the SEC would be good for Tallahassee. More people would visit on game days since most of the SEC schools are within reasonable driving range unlike ACC schools. Plus the match-ups will be more intriguing.

florida, you're not considering the ACC's long term outlook. If FSU doesn't leave, some of the other teams will. The ACC will permanently be the fourth best conference and fourth in pay. FSU will win mores games in a weak ACC, but they're also more likely to be left out of the title game. Also when all the other schools are bringing in more money, FSU could have a difficult time competing outside of the conference.
