TALLAHASSEE, FL - The “Gateway to Tallahassee” has officially been jolted by neon lightning. Thursday, August 27, 2009, The McKibbon Hotel Group opened the 7-story, 162-room Aloft Hotel on the north west corner of Call and Monroe Streets in Downtown Tallahassee. Construction on this hotel began in May of 2008, and over the past year (as Urban Updates have shown), we’ve watched this hotel quickly grow out of the ground.

Marpan Recycling is a new recycling plant handling construction and demolition waste (C&D or Class III) as well as yard waste. Marpan Recycling represents the latest in new technologies to handle and redistribute Class III waste. Located just a mile south of Capital Circle south east, the facility will offer two scales, a clean drop-off platform, designed to move trucks quickly and easily. At this new facility, your truck never leaves the tarmac, which means safer dumping, and lowered risk of damage to vehicles and tires. It will cost $34 per ton to tip at this facility, $125 flat fee for commercial land-clearing debris, and no fee for clean metal.
