Description: Proposed is a retail shopping center for the site that will include at least two big box stores (Publix and Academy Sports). As part of this proposal, the developer is requesting relief from traffic concurrency requirements through the Temporary Economic Emergency Concurrency Relief process. Other tenants of this new development include Jersey Mike's, Brugger's Bagels, Uncle Maddios Pizza, Moe's, Sports Clips, H&R Block, Nail Shop, Dry Cleaner, and Fashion Boutique. Plaza officially opened January 26, 2013 at 90% occupancy.

There were crews working in the parcel between Randstad and the consignment shop over the weekend. If the handwritten paper in the window is correct, it appears to be a GNC moving in.

Visited the Publix for the first time, I really like the make up the plaza, especially the entrance. Gives it a bit of a different feel then the normal strip mall.

Passing by a couple of nights ago, it appears they have one of those cool Coke machines in this Moes. You know, the kind where you can make over 100 flavors.

Looks like Five Guys has pulled out of Mahan Village. The website no longer shows it coming soon and the Killearn location said the store would not be opening here after all.

Publix opened last Thursday, November 8. Signs are now up for both Jersey Mikes and Moe's; so I suspect they may be opening in the next few weeks.

^In terms of getting a Free-standing Pollo Tropical, I don't see why not. FSU's location is obviously in the distribution network and its only a matter of someone local decicing to inquire about a franchise opportunity and then leasing space for one. The former Atlanta Bread Company locations come to mind, but there are the retail spaces at Mahan Village and other locations throughout town that IMO would make swell alternatives. I'd love to see one here. I think they would do well.

Being that I'm in my thirties, and don't reside in Tallahassee anymore.. I seriously doubt one of my stops would be on a college campus when I do come back to visit.. I also don't think my wife would allow me to get anywhere near a University being that I wasn't exactly a nerd when I was in college!!

Shakane, FSU owns a Pollo Tropical Franchise that has been open for several years in the FSU Student Union.
