These projects, mostly government funded, are the type that will not only create a sense of place, but those which should catalyze private investment when they are complete.

Prime Meridian Bank Capital Circle URBAN UPDATE - The Northeast quadrant of Tallahassee continues to impress with its vast selection of high profile new construction projects. Structures ranging in type from financial institutions to office buildings and hospital expansions are now underway in this part of Tallahassee.

NW Update: March 2012

Recently renovated Taco Bell on West Tennessee Street shares common design elements with nearby Campus Circle Apartment Complex. URBAN UPDATE -- This is the first Northwest update of 2012 and today we're bringing you snapshots of a collection of newly completed projects, and several others showing significant signs of progress. One such project is the very nice Campus Circle Apartments that have not only inspired positive change in the surrounding Basin Street / Tennessee Street neighborhood (as evidenced by the remodel of nearby businesses such as the Taco Bell, Moe's) but also added a new luxury option for University students wishing to live a tad closer to campus. The Campus Circle apartments line Basin Street with nicely designed chain of 4-story brick buildings said to contain 219 apartment units.

SW Update: February 2012

FSU Student Wellness Center URBAN UPDATE - Sometimes we find it easier to let the pictures speak for themselves when doing these updates, but for this update we'll add a few words. Some of you who follow the updates monthly will notice there is some overlap between this update and the most recent downtown Urban Update published within the past few months. This is often done to give us the most up-to-date progress on projects or because staff forgot something the last time around. Admittedly, the southwest update takes us very close to downtown and the lure of the high-rise buildings is sometimes too much to resist.

SE Update: January 2012

Tallahassee Florida Blue Center. Grand Opening January 28th 10am URBAN UPDATE: Happy New Year Tallahassee! We begin 2012 with a visit to Tallahassee's Southeast Quadrant where we're watching the completion of more new-to-market businesses such as the Jason's Deli and Florida Blue location in front of the Target store. UrbanTallahassee is lucky to have as a member, lindsie82, who has provided us with regular updates on the store's progress as she will be relocating to Tallahassee with her family to be Catering Manager at the new store. According to lindsie82 Jason's Deli will open its doors to the Capital City on January 16th.
